Supervision

These sessions are offered to trainee counsellors / psychotherapists either in person in the therapy room or online.

My supervision work is based on Hawkins and Shohet’s Seven Eyed Model, which explores therapy through seven lenses: the client's presentation, the therapist's interventions, the client–therapist relationship, the therapist's internal process, the supervisor–supervisee relationship (parallel process), the supervisor's internal process, and the wider systemic or organisational context; and the Integrated Developmental Model (IDM) which divides supervisees into levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) focusing on their awareness, motivation, and autonomy of supervision, focusing on the work that is being done with the client, what is going on between the client and therapist and bringing out the best in the therapist's work and ensuring that ethical standards are being adhered to.

I work with counsellors who are in training, qualified counsellors and also counsellors who are training to be supervisors. The sessions are 90 minutes long once a month but can be re-shaped to suit your needs, as some training organisations prefer counsellors to have two 1 hour sessions a month or bi-weekly.

Eating Disorder Supervision

Having spent over a decade working in the field, I specialise in offering supervision to therapists who are working with clients struggling with disordered eating behaviours, excessive exercise, purging, restriction or binge eating. Working with clients suffering in this way may need some extra consideration both for the client's needs and the therapist. I can offer ongoing support or the occasional session to support you as you support your clients.
