About
A relational, integrative approach
I offer one to one psychotherapeutic counselling sessions either in person in my therapy room, in the wood, or online. These are person centred at core but bringing an integrative approach by incorporating compassion focused therapy, somatic exercises, and solution focused forms of therapy.
My story
A life shaped by nature
“As a baby my mother often put the large, silver cross pram I was in down at the bottom of the garden under a tree.”
Little did I realise how that would influence my relationship with nature — how I would spend hours as a young person outdoors, walking, playing, and communing with the natural world.
Spending time outdoors has always been my go-to happy place and has helped me regulate my nervous system. Nature has always been my companion, hence my desire to include nature in my work with others. I value the research that is taking place to scientifically back up the benefits of spending quality time in the great outdoors.
I have always been drawn to movement and dance, and have been a yoga teacher for many years. My understanding of the mind/body/breath connection is constantly growing and, having struggled with my own wellbeing, I spent a long time learning what supported me and what I needed in this world to look after myself. Creativity, movement, somatic exercises and breath work can also be part of the therapy I offer.
Honesty, openness, and a willingness to change the relationship I have with myself to one which is supportive, kind, compassionate and caring led me to train as a therapist, psychotherapeutic counsellor and supervisor. These professions have fulfilled my need to understand the importance of communication, of relationship with another trusted person, and of feeling safe enough to open oneself and heal the wounds within.
My hope and my aim is to support you in finding what works for you to bring you into harmony with yourself and the community you find yourself in.
I am now, what others might refer to as an elder, and have the privilege of being a mother and grandmother. Animals have always been important to me in my life, along with family, friends, the great outdoors, music, dance, yoga, and time alone.

How we might work together
The most important aspect of the work is the relationship between us, ensuring it is therapeutic and supportive throughout the work that we do together. I work in a trauma informed and person centred way.
I work relationally in a way that we can explore what is affecting you, and my aim is to support you in moving through the distress to find a deeper understanding of yourself — to enable you to make choices that enhance your wellbeing and life.
Sessions can be offered weekly, bi-weekly, or at intervals that benefit you. I will be as flexible as possible, and we will work together to ensure that you are getting the support that you need.
